The research topic COMPUTATIONAL MECHANICS focuses on the development of numerical tools related to optimization, inverse problems, machine learning and direct problems to be used in computer graphics for image processing, mixed symbolic-numerical computing (Mathematica), and associated numerical computing with the finite difference, finite volume, finite element, and spectral methods. All of them can in fact be applied to both concentration areas of solid mechanics and thermal sciences.
