PGMEC INFORMS

PGMEC Lectures

The Postgraduate Program in Mechanical Engineering (PGMEC) is organizing lectures for postgraduate and undergraduate students at the Universidade Federal Fluminense. Every Friday in the PGMEC rooms.

Polymers Magazine

Call for papers for Polymers magazine. Special Edition “Mechanical and Failure Behavior of Polymeric Composites”

Mentoring Program

Tutoring is a project of the Mechanical Engineering Coordination together with the PGMEC Postgraduate Program to select postgraduate students who want to assist undergraduate students in the different disciplines of the course.

Since 1995 working on the progress of science & engineering

PGMEC is one of the Postgraduate programs in Mechanical Engineering in the country with the highest average scientific production per professor. It provides solid theoretical, numerical and experimental training in Mechanics, training professionals capable of addressing practical problems of interest to the State of Rio de Janeiro and the country.

CONCENTRATION AREAS

SOLIDS MECHANICS

It represents the branch of continuum mechanics that studies the behavior of solid materials, more spececifically their movement and deformation, when subject to the action of internal or external agents, such as force, temperature, variations and phase changes.

THERMAL SCIENCES

This term unifies two major areas in mechanical engineering, known as transport phenomena and thermal engineering. The former studies scientific phenomena related to the mass, momentum and energy conservation principles. The latter studies technologies, whose development is based on these principles, related to heating and cooling systems.
